The Big Chester Terrace Street Party 2018

DATE: Sunday 10th June 2018 - 2pm

Check this post for all details of the day. It will be updated as and when things are finalised. Other blog posts will update on the progress and the day, but this one will have the final details.

This is one of the photos that inspired me to organise a street party. This photo was taken on VE Day at a street party on the north end of Chester Terrace. So lovely to see it (thank you to John Colwell for sending it to me, he is the little boy at the end!).

THEME: HATS! Wear any hat you want to

CARS: We will start at 2pm but will need cars moved from Lucerne Rd  down to nos Chester Terrace by midday so we can put tables out and bunting up. It's only for half a day but thank you for your co-operation!

DECORATION: We'll drag tables and chairs out from houses. We are borrowing bunting but if anyone has any that would be fab!

MUSIC: Do we have any musicians that would like to play? If not, I'll be putting together a Spotify playlist for the music system.

GAMES/FUN FOR KIDS/EVENTS:
Cake Bake Off competition - please do make a cake and bring it along!
Face painting
Chalk drawing on the street
TBC

The council has approved a licence to close the south side of Chester Terrace - we can't close the entire road as they require Lucerne Road for access, but we intend to close the north side next year if people would like to alternate.

Big thank you to John Colwell for these photos of when he lived on the road as a child. At the bottom is a document with lots of information about his life there.

Council Application Submitted

Hello everyone, I'm still waiting on approval from the council but they did email a few weeks ago to say they'd received the application so at least that's something! I'll let you know as soon as I hear more and we can have another meeting to firm up plans! This is the leaflet that you should have had popped through your door!
