STREET PARTY UPDATE: SIGNATURES
Mike and I had a successful walk around today (and I went around this evening for a few more) and I'm pleased to say that overall we had a wonderful response to the street party and met some lovely people!

The form the council need filling in with 75% of the road agreeing to the road closure
We needed two thirds positive response and have got 73% of the road signed up today so I have filled out the form to send to the council for the road closure which is really exciting! I also dropped in a little save the date leaflet to those who signed (hello to four new neighbours who joined this evening after that!)
Two people raised an objection to moving cars for the day. I understand that parking is such a pain but it would be so lovely for one day for the road to be clear and for children to be able to play car free. Plus, much easier for the planned north/south tug o' war
So please do move your cars by around midday. We have lots of notice and it's really only a short time - midday until no later than 8pm, probably less (officially I've asked for 10am but that's to give us all time and have other areas not park there). There are often spaces on Stanford Avenue/Cleveland Rd/Southdown Rd by the park etc and it's not too far to walk. Hopefully you'll be at the party anyway so won't need your car! (obviously blue badge holders who live on the street please do keep your cars in the bays if you need them)

While I wait to hear from the council please do let me know ideas for cake competitions/dog shows/pass the parcel/tug o' war/ food/ anything you fancy happening or if you've moved from an area that had a street party I'd love to hear what worked/didn't work too.
(for the notes from our meeting on what was decided, food, entertainment, decoration and also the road closure map - including what help we need with what etc - please see my previous post)
